NAFDAC Public Notice-Beware of Fake Ampiclox In Circulation (A must Read)
NADAC PUBLIC NOTE: On Fake and Counterfeit Ampiclox Capsules Batch Nos: 50040, 10040 and 500401.
The attention of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Nigeria has been drawn to the circulation of fake batches of Ampiclox a brand of Ampicillin/Cloxacillin Capsules used for the treatment of bacterial infections.
The original Ampiclox a brand of Ampicillin/Cloxacillin capsules is from Beecham (GlaxoSmithKline).
The batches affected are Ampiclox Capsules with Batch numbers 50040, 10040 and 500401.
While NAFDAC continues further investigation and mopping up, Hospitals, Pharmaceutical outfits, Health Centreâ€™s and the General Public in Nigeria are advised to immediately suspend the distribution, sales of the affected batches of Ampiclox ( AMPICLOX Capsules Antibiotic Batch NOs: 50040, 10040 and 500401).
All existing stocks should urgently be taken to the nearest NAFDAC office throughout Nigeria for destruction.
NAFDAC advises the General public to report to the nearest NAFDAC office anybody suspected to be in possession of the offensive medicine or send SMS to NAFDAC on 08133630600 or 08058741647 for appropriate action.
