Four Ways to Start Laundry and Dry Cleaning Business in Nigeria

Here is an update of my previous article titled how to start a profitable laundry Business in Nigeria.
I got calls from people asking how they can start laundry and dry cleaning services on a small scale.
Actually there are four types of laundry and dry cleaning services in Nigeria. And they are the very small, small, medium and large scale laundry and dry cleaning services.
The amount of cash you have at hand as Capital is what will determine which of the four levels of laundry and dry cleaning business you can setup.
Before go ahead to set up laundry business, please first check your pocket to know the type to start.

So let me explain what it takes to set up any of the four different types of laundry and dry cleaning business.
REQUIREMENT: FOR VERY SMALL SCALE LAUNDRY SERVICES SETUP.
Very small scale laundry business requires little or capital to set it up, all you need do is go to people’s homes, collect their clothes wash by hand, Iron and return it to them and get paid for that.
To start you need just a bucket for washing, water, one pressing Iron, washing detergent and packaging nylon. This will not cost more than N10, 000/$70 in Nigeria.
REQUIREMENT: SMALL SCALE LAUNDRY AND DRY CLEANING BUSINESS SETUP.
For a small scale laundry and dry cleaning business setup all you need is to rent a shop to serve as a collection point, wash the clothes collected from customers by hand, Iron and package for the owners to collect them.
To setup a small scale laundry and dry cleaning business in Nigeria, you need to have a startup capital of about N300, 000. The amount will cover the cost of renting a shop for 1year; buy a pressing Iron, a generating set, packaging nylon, washing soaps and print fliers for advertisement.

REQUIREMENT: MEDUIM SCALE LAUNDRY AND DRY CLEANING SERVICES SETUP.
Medium scale laundry and dry cleaning business requires a startup capital of about N2million Naira. This amount is needed to buy a 20kg washing machines, dry cleaning machines, Industrial pressing Iron, rent a factory space for carrying out laundry and dry cleaning operations, generating set, collection and distribution van e.t.c.
REQUIREMENT: LARGE SCALE LAUNDRY AND DRY CLEANING SERVICES SETUP.
Large scale laundry and dry cleaning business setup requires a startup capital of between N3million and above.
This amount is needed to buy large capacity washing machines, dry cleaning machines, pressing board, rent a factory space for carrying out laundry and dry cleaning operations, generating set, advertisement, collection and distribution van e.t.c.
